Security guard sentenced to death for killing bank manager over blasphemy in Jauharabad

Lahore: A court on Wednesday handed down death sentence to a security guard for killing a bank manager on the allegations of blasphemy in Jauharabad area of Punjab last year.

Security guard Ahmed Nawaz had shot dead bank manager Imtiaz Hanif after accusing him of blasphemy.

The guard initially received support of the citizens who congratulated him for the murder but most of the people withdrew their support after it became evident that the slain was a devout Muslim who was killed over a personal issue.
