Sheikh Rasheed left embarrassed after ISPR DG says he lied about NSC meeting

Islamabad: DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar on Tuesday rejected Sheikh Rasheed’s claim about military leadership’s views on an alleged US conspiracy against the Imran Khan government.

“Both national security committee meetings were told in explicit details that there is no evidence of conspiracy, he said on a TV show.

Speaking on Kamran Shahid’s Dunya News show, Babar Iftikhar said that Shiekh Rasheed was not speaking truth when he said no service chief told the NSC meeting that there was no conspiracy against the government.

He said that the meeting that was also attended by all services chiefs, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and the DG ISI categorically said that there was no conspiracy.

He said that the Pakistani security agencies were working day and night for the country’s security.

The ISPR chief also spoke about defence budget and the return of former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf on Kamran Shahid’s show.
