Story behind Maryam Nawaz’s jail video explained
Lahore: ARY News on Saturday claimed that a purported video of PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz has been released which would negate her claims about the treatment meted out to her in Kot Lakhpat jail.
ARY, which is known as a broadcaster allied with the PTI, said that the video proves that Maryam Nawaz had been illegally using a mobile phone in the prison.
The claims being made by anchor Imran Riaz Khan about the video are already known to several Pakistani journalists.
The purported video does not show anything inappropriate as being suggested by some political opponents of the PML-N.
The video shows Maryam purportedly refusing to handover her phone when police asked to return it.
The PML-N leader reportedly hid the device under the pillow and sat on it to resist the police action.
As soon as the video was released Shahbaz Gill and Imran Riaz took to Twitter to spread the word.
