Taliban remove Pakistan flag from a truck carrying relief goods into Afghanistan, vow to burn it

Peshawar: Taliban soldiers removed the Pakistani flag from a truck carrying Pakistani aid to Afghanistan.

A video of the incident that surfaced on Tuesday showed the Taliban taking down the flag and vowing to burn it near Torkham border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

While hundreds of people condemned the Taliban for removing the flag, others questioned Islamabad’s support to the militants who recently took over Kabul and established an interim government.

A Taliban official said in a statement, “Those who disrespected Pakistani flag at Torkham have been arrested. “No one has the right to insult someone’s flag. This behavior will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken.”
