Traffic jams all over Pakistan after TLP chief arrested

Islamabad: Huge gridlocks were witnessed in all major cities in Pakistan after authorities arrested Tehreek-e-Labbaik Chief Saad Hussain Rizvi.

Karachi saw one of the worst traffic jams as hundreds of TLP workers came out on the streets demanding release of their leader. Motorway linking several Pakistani cities was also closed on several points, according to police.

Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and other cities were also witnessing traffic jams as protesters blocked main roads.

The TLP chief was apparently arrested after he asked the government to expel French ambassador from Pakistan. Thousands of social media users condemned the government’s move and threatened to to stage a sit-in if Saad Hussain Rizvi was not released
