US reacts to Pakistan court order to release Daniel Pearl’s alleged killer

Washington: “We call on the Pakistani government to expeditiously review its legal options, including allowing the United States to prosecute (Ahmed Omar Saeed) Sheikh for the brutal murder of an American citizen,” said White House spokesperson while answering a question at press briefing on Thursday.

It was the first response from the Biden administration over Pakistani Supreme Court’s order to release Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh.

Biden last week took oath as the 46th president of the United States.
