Usman Gohar, manager Faysal Bank, arrested for groping woman
Islamabad: Usman Gohar, a Manager at Faysal Bank, has been arrested after he caught on camera while groping a woman in Islamabad.
The video of the sexual harassment went viral over the internet on Saturday, with social media users expressing outrage and demanding the bank take action against the man.
According to Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqat, “Police raided his house. The culprit has turned his cell off and his hiding for the last three hours.”
Shafqat said on Twitter that the bank manager has been dismissed from his job. Speaking to Samaa TV the Islamabad DC said authorities are forensically analyzing the video to determine whether it is recent.
Meanwhile, Usman Gohar’s name became top hashtag trend on Twitter in Pakistan.
DG Operations Islamabad Police said, “Usman Gohar Manager Credit department Faysal Bank F10 Markaz Islamabad has been arrested & shifted to Police Station. Further legal action being taken.”
Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari tweeted, “
Usman Gohar of Faysal Bank arrested – @dcislamabad informed. He has also been issued letter of dismissal by the Bank. Appreciate quick action by ICT Admin & ICT police.”
