With remarks about Liaquat Ali Khan’s martyrdom, Imran Ismail makes himself laughing stock

Karachi: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has been mocked for his latest statement about one of the founding fathers of Pakistan.

While paying tribute to Liaquat Ali Khan, he incorrectly said that the former prime minister was martyred in Karachi.

Liaquat Ali Khan was assassinated on October 16, 1951 in Rawalpindi’s Company Bagh which was later renamed as Liaquat Bagh, the same venue where two-time prime minister was killed in a bomb and gun attack on December 27, 2007.

Liaquat Ali, who migrated from Karnal, India, before partition was buried in Karachi.
