Zong network hacked in Pakistan?

Zong internet services were disrupted across Pakistan Wednesday, with users taking to social media to register their complaints.

According to some unverified reports, Mobile data network operator Zong went down in major cities across the country on Wednesday afternoon.

“Due to unexpected commercial power outage, Zong network services were temporarily down in some areas; however, the power issue has been resolved and services have been restored, a spokesperson for Zong said while talking to a widely circulated English daily.

Zong became top Twitter trend in Pakistan, with some users claiming “Zong system has been crashed. You can use Internet without balance”.

Some users claimed that Zong network was hacked before it shut down, a claim that could not be independently confirmed.
