Nike in a fix over Betsy Ross Flag trainer-Here is why

Nike has found itself in a serious trouble for introducing “racist trainer” and later due to its decision to withdraw the sneakers .

The company was accused of using racist symbolism, an old US flag embraced by white nationalists.

The spical edition Air AMz 1 Quick Strike Fourth Of July trainer featured the Betsy Ross Flag that was created during the American Revolution but was later adopted by American Nazi Party.

Kaepernick, a former NFL star, also found the flag offensive and expressed his reservations.

After facing the backlash, Nike decided to pull the trainer saying it could unintentionally offend and detract the nation’s patriotic holiday.

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey has not liked the Nike’s decision one bit and decided to pull a $1 million to help Nike build a new factory in his state saying the company had bowed to political correctness.

In a string of tweets, the governor said “”Words cannot express my disappointment at this terrible decision. I am embarrassed for Nike.

“Instead of celebrating American history the week of our nation’s independence, Nike has apparently decided that Betsy Ross is unworthy, and has bowed to the current onslaught of political correctness and historical revisionism,” he said.

The trainer was selling for $15, 00 dollars online before the controversy erupted.

While a large number of common citizens expressed support for Nike, Texas Senator Ted Cruz also chose to oppose it’s decision to withdraw the trainer calling it as unpatriotic.

A considerable number of Twitter users called for a boycott of Nike products for withdrawing the trainer.

The Betsy Ross flag is an early design of the flag of the United States, named for upholsterer and flag maker Betsy Ross. It uses the common motifs of alternating red-and-white striped field with five-pointed stars in a blue canton.
