What book PM Imran is reading on flight back home?

Karachi: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday left for Pakistan after concluding his visit to the United States.

The prime minister boarded a commercial flight after his special plane had to turn back to New York with a technical fault on Friday night.

On his way back home, The prime minister was accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood.

Pictures of the prime minister and Shah Mehmood Qureshi sitting together were doing the rounds on social media.

One of them caught people’s attention which showed the Pakistani leader engrossed in a book as his foreign minister looked on.

Twitter users were wondering about which book the prime minister was reading.

Looking at the confusion and the level of curiosity, the author of the book took it upon himself to tell the social media users what their leader was reading aboard the flight.

It turned out that the book was recently published “Anarchy” , written by renowned author and historian William Dalrymple.

“Some guy in a salvar kemise reading the Anarchy…,” wrote the Scottish historian who has lived in India on and off since late eighties while answering the question.

“The Anarchy: The East India Company, Corporate Violence, and the Pillage of an Empire” was released earlier this month.

The prime minister was returning to Pakistan after criticizing Indian government for its policy of suppressing people in Kashmir during his maiden address to the United Nations General Assembly session.

The Pakistani prime minister drew world’s attention towards the human crisis unfolding in Kashmir after New Delhi revoked its special status.
