India vs Australia: Asif Ghafoor trolls India with ‘CAP’ tweet lauding Usman Khawaja
RAWALPINDI: Major General Asif Ghafoor took to his personal Twitter account to praise Australian batsman Usman Khawaja for his excellent knock against India on Wednesday.
Ghafoor, who is the Director General of Pakistan Army’s media wing ISPR, wrote that Khawaja’s century at excellent strike rate made the difference.
“Very well played yet again #UsmanKhawaja. You gave excellent performance during last three consecutive ODI contests to CAP the series,” Asif Ghafoor added.
He used uppercase letters to write ‘cap’ while taking a dig at Indian team which played the last match against Australia with military caps on in the wake of recent hostilities between Pakistan and India which saw Pakistan Air Force shoot down two Indian aircraft.
During the last match which raised may eyebrows at Indian team’ wearing military caps, the ISPR DG had also praised the Pakistan born batsman for his knock which guided Australia to victory over India.
Pakistani fans also mocked Indian team for losing the match at the hands of Australia.
Pakistan information minister and foreign minister had demanded the ICC take action over the politicization of the game.
The ICC, however, said the Indian team had sought permission to wear the military caps.
