PSL: Peshawar Zalmi defeat Islamabad United to qualify for final
KARACHI: Peshawar Zalmi on Friday defeated Islamabad United by 48 runs in the second eliminator of the Pakistan Super League qualifying for the final.
Put in to bat, Zalmi set a mammoth target of 215 runs and then restricted the defending champions to 166 runs.
In the first inning, wicket keeper batsman Kamran Akmal made 74 off 43 withe from 10 fours and and three sixes. Imam-ul-Haq contributed 58 off 33.
Apart from Chadwick Walton (48) and Faheem Ashraf (33), Islamabad United offered no serious resistance to Peshawar Zalmi bowling attack.
Hasan Ali and Chirs Jordawn took three wickets each while Wahab Riaz, Tymil Mills and Kieron Pollard picked one wicket each.
PSL final would be played at the National Stadium Karachi on Sunday between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators.
