8chan, the darkest corner of Internet that knew Christchurch mosque shooter’s plan

KARACHI: Before Christchurch mosque shooting, Australian terrorist Brenton Tarrant had announced his plan on a site called 8chan that is also known as one of the darkest corners of the Internet.

Unlike Facebook, Twitter and other popular social media sites, members of platforms like 8chan engage in racism and hatred towards people of color and anyone who happens to disagree with their twisted views.

““Well lads, it’s time to stop shitposting and time to make a real life effort post,” the terrorist posted on the forum before going on the rampage which saw 49 Muslims killed at two mosques in New Zealand on Friday.

Shitposting is the worthless posts on a messageboard, newsgroup, or other online discussion platform designed to bait others.

Founded in 2013 by Fredrick Brennan, 8chan is now owned by Jim Watkins, an American based in Philippines. The forum is banned appearing Google search results for violation of terms of use.
