Alan Tucker, who released Ahmaud Arbery shooting video, reveals his purpose

Washington: Alan Tucker is an attorney based in Coastal Georgia who leaked the video of a father-son duo killing an unarmed black man Ahmaud Arbery, who was jogging through the Brunswick neighborhood of Satilla Shores.

In an email to a local broadcaster, Attorney Alan David Tucker spoke about the purpose of leaking the video of Gregory McMichael and his son.

He said that he did not intend to release the video to get McMichaels acquitted, without revealing how he got his hands on the footage.

“There had been very little information provided by the police department or the district attorney’s office, but there was entirely too much speculation, rumor, false narratives, and outright lies surrounding this event,” Tucker wrote in the email.

My sole purpose in releasing the video was absolute transparency because my community was being ripped apart by erroneous accusations and assumptions.”

Filmed by an unidentified witness, the video shows Arbery being chased by McMichaels in a white pickup truck.

Three shots are heard before the victim falls to the ground after being fatally shot.

The alleged attackers told police that Arbery matched the description of someone caught on a security camera committing recent break-ins in the neighborhood.
