Australia: Ramadan 2021 moonsighting on Monday

Sydney: The Islamic month of Ramadan would start in Australia on either 13th or the 14th of April 2021 depending on the moonsighting.

According to “Moonsighting Australia”, “Monday the 12th of April 2021 will be the day of Moonsighting”.

The central moonsighting body in Australia said in a statement “We acknowledge that there is a difference of opinion by Imams on the matter of Moonsighting. We hold all views in the highest esteem and the regard and call upon all fellow Muslims to respect all differences and avoid any disputes on the matter that may lead to disunity amongst the Muslim community in Australia.”

Meanwhile, Ramadan would start in Saudi Arabia on April 13 as moon could not be sighted in the Gulf country on Sunday.
