Do Muslims celebrate Halloween?

Halloween that is also known as all Saints Day and several other names is observed on October 31, the eve of the Western Chirstian feast of All Hallows’ Day.

It is dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints, martyrs and all the faithful departed.

It is essentialy a Christian holiday,but Holloween has now become more commercial and secular in many countries, particulary developed countries in Europe and the United States.

Moderates living in religiously diverse societies of Europe and America are often seen becoming part of every celebration which come their way.

But fundamentalists chose not to celebrate the festivals which they don’t find compatible with their religious believes.

Every year when Halloween approaches, folks start wondering whether their friends and colleagues would like to join them in the the celebrations too.

Some of them find it too awkward to ask directly and turned instead to internet to figure out the answer.

Since a large number of Muslims live in Christian majority western countries, their neighbors and acquaintances are more likely to be curious if they would have any issue joining the celebrations.

Answer to this simple question is that some Muslims would have no issue celebrating Halloween or any other festival for that matter.

Others would not know what to do and seek guidance from teachings of Islam.

Since origins of Halloween have long been subject of discussion in west too, chances are practicing Muslims would avoid becoming part of it.
