Eid 2020: Moon not sighted in Australia

Muslims in Australia will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday 25 May 2020 as Shawaal moon could not be sighted in the country.

According to National Hilaal Committee, a body of Islamic scholars and exerts, announced that “the Hilaal (crescent) of Shawwaal 1441 has not been sighted anywhere in Australia”.


The moon sighting body makes it’s decision after collecting evidence from several parts of the country.

Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries in Gulf are will celebrate Eid on Sunday.

Pakistan is expected to celebrate Eid on Monday as it’s moon sighting is due to announce its decision today.
