Google server issue causes outages: YouTube, Snapchat other services affected

Internet users were reporting major ongoing outages on several sites and services, including YouTube, Google and Snapchat.

The outage is believed to be caused by a Google Cloud issue, according to a report.

It was not immediately known how much time is required to restore the services.

According to report by The Verge, Gmail, Nest, Discord, and a number of other web services were also suffering from outages in the US today.

Giving the reason behind the breakdown, the website reported that a problem with Google’s Cloud service which powers apps other than just Google’s own web services was responsible for the chaos that affected the Internet giant.

According to Google, issue wih Cloud dashboard began at around 3:25PM ET / 12:25PM PT.

“The issues appeared to be mostly affecting those on the East Coast of the US, but some YouTube and Gmail users across Europe are also reporting that they’re unable to access the services. Google’s own G Suite Status dashboard shows problems with practically every single Google web service, and Down Detector lists YouTube outage reports in a number of countries worldwide,” The Verge reported.

Some users were reported problems with Google analytics and other services too.
