Indians react to Israel-Hamas conflict

New Delhi: A large number of Indian especially the supporters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi cheered for Israel as the Jewish state hit back at Gaza after Hamas’ killed hundreds of people on Saturday.

Twitter and other social media websites were flooded with posts supporting Israel.

Right wing Hindu activists said Israel has the right to defend itself after Israeli war planes hit targets in Gaza.

Most of right wing Hindus are supporting Israel because majority of Indian Muslims back Palestinians.

Liberal Hindu activists, however, called for restraint.

While they condemned Hamas attacks on Israeli citizens, they also called on Israel to vacate occupied Palestinian lands.

After the Israel-Hamas conflict, extremist elements started pro-Israel trends on Twitter, formerly known as Twitter, calling for revenge.
