Jake Shields slams US govt for failing to protect Andrew Tate in Romania

American mixed martial artist Jake Shields has criticized the US government for what he saw as it’s failure to protect Andrew Tate and his brother in Romania.

In a Twitter statement, he said, “The Tate brothers are US citizens and are being falsely imprisoned in Romania.”

He added, “Why hasn’t the US embassy gotten involved?

Jake Shield said, “It’s their job to fight for every US citizen regardless of their political views.”

Andrew Tate, his brother and two other suspects will remain in custody until Feb. 27, a Romanian court said on Thursday, extending their detention.

Tate and his co-accused were detained by Romanian anti-organised crime prosecutors on Dec. 29 on charges of forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit six women. A court ruled on Jan. 10 that the suspects should remain in Romanian police custody for a full 30 days.
