Khalilzad hails Pakistan efforts for Afghan peace process

ISLAMABAD: US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad on Saturday thanked Pakistan for its efforts supporting Afghan peace process.

He was on a two-day visit to Islamabad to hold meetings with Pakistani officials.

Khalilzad also thanked Islamabad for re-affirming the understanding that “ultimately Afghans, and Afghans alone, will determine their future.

He said there is always more work to be done.

Khalilzad led a US delegation to hold talks at Pakistan foreign office on Saturday where Tehmina Janjua led the Pakistani side.

The US diplomat also held talks with Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

After concluding his visit to Islamabad, Zalmay Khalilzad has left for Afghan capital Kabul.
