Nepal shot down Indian fighter jet?

Social media platforms Facebook and Twitter are flooded with pictures and videos of purported Indian fighter jet which users think was recently shot down by Nepal.

The claims are incorrect as no Indian aircraft was brought down by Nepal. The photos and video circulating on social media are fake, according to India’s Press Information Bureau (PIB).

The photos of the burning jet are from Libya which have been circulated on social media.

Before going viral on the internet, Twitter handle Irmak Idoya had posted two pictures claim that the Indian aircraft was shot after Indian Air Force crossed the border to conduct airstrike in Nepal.
