Trump’s statement on killing of Qassem Soleimani

Washington: US President Donald Trump on Friday issued a statement on the killing of top Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani in Iraq.

In the video statement shared by the official Twitter account of The White House, the president said the Iranian general was eliminated in a precision strike on his directions.

He said the US was prepared to defend its people and allies. The US leader also praised Iranian people as he accused the the country’s leadership of waging proxy wars in middle eastern countries.
