Zambia education minister sacked over viral video
Zambia’s education minister David Mabumba has been sacked after he was allegedly found involved in a sex scandal.
President Edgar Lungu on Wednesday removed the minister without giving any reasons.
A spokesperson for the president issued a statement on the sacking of the education minister Mabumba after he was seen indulging inappropriate activity in a viral video.
According to local media, the minister is seen fondling himself while on a live WhatsApp video call with an unidentified woman.
The reports said that the minister is currently in quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Police are also said to have launched an investigation into the scandal. Mabumba has yet to make any comment on his removal and the video.
