Aleem Khan to announce acquisition of Samaa TV after resignation from Punjab cabinet?
Lahore: Senior PTI leader Aleem Khan has resigned from the Punjab cabinet citing personal reasons.
Aleem Khan, who has been serving as senior minister and holding the portfolio of food, decided to resign months after it was reported that he had acquired Samaa Tv channel in a multi-billion rupee deal.
Many believe that he would soon formally announce the acquisition of Samaa TV.
Meanwhile, The News reported that five more ministers in Buzdar’s cabinet are likely to submit their resignations.
Talking to leading English daily The Nation, Khan said “I am just waiting for a nod from Prime Minister Imran Khan. Whenever he asks me to resign, I will officially resign.”
He said, “it was not due to any grievance or anything of the sort. It is due to my personal obligations.”
The minister added he had already conveyed his decision to the prime minister some months back. “I also met him later, twice or thrice. I am also in touch with him now. I have made a request to the PM to allow me to resign. I will resign the day the Prime Minister asks me to.
