Lahore: A leading Pakistani bank has decided not to receive donations for Palestine.
A purported screenshot of an email sent to Bank Alfalah staff has been widely circulated on social media.
In the email, group heads and general mangers have been advised not to “accept any donation funds to the Palestinian embassy.
The purported email dos not mention the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
Thousands of social media users have expressed anger over the bank’s decision, with some people claiming that several other Pakistani banks have also issued the same instructions.
The veracity of the viral email could not be independently confirmed. Bank Alfalah has also not reacted to the rumors doing the rounds on social media.
