Imran Khan did not want to appoint Lt. Gen Faiz Hameed as army chief: Sheikh Rashid

Rawalpindi: Sheikh Rashid has claimed that Imran Khan did not want to appoint Lt. General Faiz Hameed as Chief of the Army Staff.

During a press conference, he was asked whether Khan wanted to bring Hameed as the army chief to introduce China-like system in Pakistan.

The former minister said Imran Khan did not think about appointing General Faiz Hameed as the army chief.

When asked who Khan wanted as his chief, Sheikh Rashid said the person is no more in the world.

Many people believe Sheikh Rashid implied that Imran Khan planned to appoint Lt.Genrdal Sarfraz Ali as his army chief.

General Sarfraz died in a helicopter crash in Balochistan a few months ago.

According to a senior journalist, General Sarfraz was number 17 in seniority and Sheikh Rashid was trying to make him controversial after his death.
