KARACHI: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has said Shaban moon has been sighted and the eight month of Islamic calendar starts today (Sunday).

The announcement was made on Saturday after the moon sighting body concluded its meeting which was held under its chairman Mufti Munibur Rehman.

The meeting was attended by members of the commitee and officials of the Met Office.

Shab-e-Barat (the night of forgiveness) would be observed on the 15th of Shaban on Saturday, April 20.
