India may launch terror attacks in Karachi, Bahawalpur: Hamid Mir
ISLAMABAD: Senior Pakistan journalist Hamir Mir on Tuesday said India may target Karachi and Bahwalpur by launching terrorist attacks after failing to launch conventional military assault.
The senior journalist while speaking on “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath” show said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bharatiya Janata Party want to take advantage of the situation between the two countries in the upcoming general election through targeting Pakistan.
He said the escalation was niether in Pakistan’s interest nor India’s.
Pakistan keeps India at bay
Citing unnamed government sources, Geo TV reported that India had plans to attack Pakistani air bases but it was warned against such misadventure by Islamabad through allies.
The TV channel said Pakistan had intelligence information about India’s intentions and preparation to launch the attacks.
Although there was no direct contact between Islamabad and New Delhi, India was informed trough other countries that it would face severe backlash and more intense retaliation if it launches any attack against Pakistan.
The sources, Geo TV reported, further said that Indian also wanted to launch a missile attack from its Rajasthan area but again Islamabad’s stern warning forced it to drop the plan.
