DV Lottery Canada ‘inscription’: Fact-check

Visa applicants are advised to refrain from enrolling in any scheme advertising visa grants in Canada on lottery basis since the country’s immigration system does not work in this manner.

Here is a statement issued by a Canadian firm which provides the correct information regarding immigration:

DISCLAIMER:

Canada does not have a Canadian Visa Lottery

Certain webpages advertising a 2019/2020 Canada Visa Lottery Application are leading international visitors to our website, CanadaVisa.com.

Please note that Canadavisa.com is in no way associated with those websites, which are misleading because the Government of Canada does not issue visas through a lottery, and the promised application form does not exist.

Canadavisa.com is run by the Canadian immigration law firm Campbell, Cohen, a private company with over 40 years experience assisting clients who want to immigrate to Canada.

If you would like to find out if you are eligible for any of the more than 80 Canadian immigration programs, we invite you to complete our free online assessment form.

The above information was taken from an AFP story which was published last year, but the applicants from different countries in Africa and elsewhere are still being mislead.

The applicants who haven’t come across the AFP fact-check were observed using search engines to find ways to apply for the Canadian visa by typing a vague term “DV lottery Canada inscription”.

It is to mention here that DV Lottery is US Diversity Visa Lottery Program under which the United States grands visa to thousands of people every year.

The process of submitting entries for DV Lottery 2021 ended on November 4, 2019.
