Eid-ul-Fitr 2023: Will SBP issue fresh currency notes?

Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is not releasing fresh currency notes on this Eid.

The SBP has not issued fresh currency notes during the last three years since the coronavirus pandemic began.

Since the begining of the Ramazan, people have been wondering whether the country’s central bank would issue fresh notes this year.

While there are no restrictions in place due to COVID-19, there is no other reason the SBP bank should not release the fresh currency notes on Eid.

Some people voiced concerns that the bank might come up with an excuse citing economic crisis for not releasing the notes this year too.

The bank was expected to announce it’s decision through media but avoided answering questions in this regard.
