Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday issued a detailed verdict against Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri’s ruling on the No Confidence Motion against former prime minister Imran Khan.

The apex court rejected PTI’s plea that the Supreme Court should take suo motu on the allegation of breach of sovereignty.

Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel urged for action under Article 6 of constitution against President Arif Alvi, former prime minister Imran Khan, Speaker Qaisar, Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri and law minister Fawad Chaudhry.

Justice Jamal Mandokhail said that after short order, nation had
witnessed that instead of following the mandate of Constitution and directions of this Court, Speaker had prolonged the proceedings of National Assembly in order to frustrate constitutional and democratic
process.

“Such an unconstitutional and undemocratic behavior was
unbecoming for a person holding one of the most prestigious constitutional
offices” said Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail.
