Karachi weather update: new system bringing more rains from August 6th

Karachi: A monsoon system is bringing a new spell of rains in Karachi.

According to the Met Office, the city is likely to receive rains during the period between August 6th and 9th.

“Monsoon currents of moderate intensity are likely to enter eastern Sindh from 4 August night/5 August morning. Under the influence of this weather system: Rain-thunderstorms with a few moderate/heavy falls is expected in Tharparker, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, TM. Khan, Tando Allayar, Hyderabad, Mityari, Thatta, Sujawal, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Khairpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Ghotki, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Dadu, Jamshoro & Qambar Shahdadkot districts during 5-9 August and in Karachi division during 6-9 August.”

Impacts: Heavy falls may generate water-logging in low lying areas of Karachi, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Tando Muhammad khan, Tando Allayar, Dadu, Jamshoro and Qambar Shahdadkot districts during the forecast period.
