Karachi weather update: rain likely to continue on Friday

Karachi: Met Office forecast released on Thursday suggests that the metropolis would continue to receive more rains during the next couple of days under the current spell.

Below is the full statement issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Yesterday’s low over northeast Sindh now lies as a trough over there. Another trough of low lies over southeast Sindh & adjoining areas.

Under the influence of this weather system:Rain/thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls likely to continue in Nawabshah, Khairpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Dadu, Jamshoro, Shikarpur, Kambar Shahdadkot, Ghotki, Kashmore, Umerkot and Tharparker districts during 2 days, while light/ moderate rain is expected in Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Hyderabad, T. M. Khan, Tando Allayar, Mirpurkhas and Karachi division.

The persistent heavy spell over Khuzdar, Lasbella, Hub & along Kirthar Range may create pressure on Hub Dam & flash flooding in Dadu, Jamshoro, Kambar Shahdadkot distts & downstream.
