Karachi receives rain

Karachi: The metropolis on Wednesday received moderate rain, bringing the relief from the scorching heat that has been baking the city for the last few days.

The rain was coupled with speedy winds and as soon as the first drops of rain hit the city, K-Electric cut power supplies to most parts of the city.

Upper parts of Pakiatan are receiving heavy rains for the last three days.

Temperatures dropped to below 20 degree Celsius in Islamabad and several parts of Punjab province on Tuesday.

Karchiites are desperately waiting for the pre-moon rains after the Met Office predicted that the metropolis is expected to receive rain on Wednesday after a spell of scorching heat on Monday and Tuesday.

A statement issued by the Met Office warned of rains in parts of Sindh.
