AJK’s Sardar Abdul Qayum is not a Niazi

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has nominated PTI leader Sardar Abdul Qayum Niazi as the new prime minister of Azad Kashmir.

His nomination came as a surprise to many who were expecting Sardar Ilyas Tanveer or Barrister Sultan Mehmood to become the next prime minister of AJK.

PTI critics said Sardar Abdul Qayum was nominated because he is Niazi. It’s been learnt that Sardar Abdul Qayum is not an ethnic Niazi and does not belong to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s tribe.

A senior journalist said Sardar Qayum started writing Niazi with his name only recently to express his association and love for the former cricket hero and PTI chairman.

Others said PM Imran Khan is superstitious and chose a man for the slot whose name starts with Urdu alphabet “Ain”. They said the PM was advised to pick a man who was elected from LA-18 or LA-13 as the numbers would prove lucky for him.

Arif Alvi, Imran Khan and Usman Buzdar’s names also start with “Ain”.
