Al Bari Tower Karachi to meet the same fate as Nasla Tower?

Karachi: As demolition of Karachi’s Nasla Tower begin on Wednesday, the Supreme Court sought a report into the construction of another high rise called Al-Bari Tower.

The apex court ordered the local administration to implement it’s orders over the illegal construction of a 16-storey Al Bari Towers located in Karachi’s Bahadurabad area.

An SC bench headed by the Chief Justice was hearing qa petition regarding the illegal construction of a 16-storey building, Al-Bari Tower, in Karachi’s Bahadurabad area. It has been brought into the court’s notice that the building was allegedly being constructed on the land of a public park.

The petitioner’s lawyer told the SC that the multi-storey building was illegally constructed on the land of a public park. The lawyer argued that the construction work had not been stopped despite the issuance of notice by the court.

Meanwhile, Jamaate Islami on Thursday stopped the demolition of Nasla Tower and vowed to fight the case in the Supreme Court.

Nasla Tower’s demolition has become controversial after thousands of people objected to court orders. It still remains unclear whether Al Bari Tower would also be razed like Nasla Tower.
