Assistant Commissioner Imran Raza Abbasi,who ‘committed suicide’, never probed cases against Sharifs

Lahore: Assistant Commissioner Revenue Imran Raza Abbasi allegedly committed suicide in Lahore on Tuesday.

Police said the the BPS-19 officer was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his flat.
The police shifted his body to a hospital for medico legal formalities.

Motive behind his alleged suicide was still unknown.

Shortly after the news of his death surfaced online, social media users belonging to a political party started linking it with corruption cases against the PML-N.

A senior journalist based in Lahore said Imran Raza Abbasi was a very well reputed officer and extremely good natured human.

He said Abbasi passed PMS over 20 years ago and mostly served as Assistant Commissioner has never been a part of any corruption cases against Sharif family, directly or indirectly.
