Captain Basit, 22-year-old, Pak Army captain martyred in KP operation

Rawalpindi: Pakistan Army on Tuesday said two soldiers were martyred during an exchange of fire with terrorists in Kurram district of Khyber Paktunkhwa province.

The soldiers were identified as Captain Basit, a 25-year-old from Haripur and Sepoy Hazrat Bilal, 22, a resident of Orakzai, in Zewa area of erstwhile FATA.

“The security forces conducted an area sanitisation operation in Zewa, Kurram district on reported presence of terrorists. Three terrorists were killed during the operation,” said a statement issued by the army’s media wing, the ISPR.
