Peshawar: In a rare incident of robbery, armed men took away 23 bags of Chilghoza (Pine nut) in South Waziristan district of Khyerb Paktunkhwa.

The armed robbers barged into godown in Waziristan’s main town Wana and held the guard and other staff hostage.

The owner of the godown told that the incident which took place before midnight on Wednesday saw 23 bags of Chilghoza worth Rs 12 million taken away.

Police have registered an FIR against unknown suspects but traders have threatened to close the Wana Bypass road if the law enforcers failed to arrest the culprits.

District Police Office Atiqullah Khan said investigation was underway, expressing the hope that his force would soon make a headyway in the case.

Chilghoza is priced at Rs8,000 per kilogram in the local market, becoming one of the most expensive dry fruits in the Pakistan.
