Dead ‘Werewolf’ instills fear in people of Balochistan, Rawalpindi
Pakistani social media users think a ‘Werewolf’ or a wolf with human body has been killed or injured in a jungle near Rawalpindi and Khuzdar district of Balochistan
Karachi: Pakistani social media is flooded with videos and pictures of a “Werewolf” some users believe was recently killed in Balochistan province’s Zehri area of Kuzdar district.
Most of the people spreading the video seemed to be unaware of the fact that Werewolf is a mythical creature which according to is a human with the ability to shapeshift into a wolf, either purposely or after being placed under a curse or affliction with the transformations occurring on the night of a full moon.
A Facebook post being circulated contained a couple of videos of a “monster” and a Pickup truck which they believe brought the wounded “Werewolf” from an unknown location.
While it was evident from people’s outfits and landscape of the area that one of the videos being shared online was made in Pakistan, the “monster” was not visible in the clip which saw people disembarking from cars in a rush with a couple of them looking scared of an unknown object in the back of one of the trucks.
Other videos doing the rounds on social media seemed to be of movie props. Rumors regarding the killing of a human like creature being killed have instilled fear in the area.
When a senior official in the area was approached for comments on the rumors, he said the authorities in the area were not aware of presence of either a living or dead “monster”.
Similar claims were made in Rawalpindi and adjacent areas. A WhatsApp message doing the rounds said a human and wolf like creature was wounded by poachers in a forest near Rawalpindi.
The viral WhatsApp message and Facebook posts also contained the same videos shared in Balochistan.
Only few users seemed to understand that the videos and pictures doing the round featured work of Joseph-Rob Cobasky, a renowned sculpture.
The viral pictures taken from the Instagram account of Joseph.
