Fact-check: Erdogan hasn’t presented resolution in UN in favor of Imran Khan

Islamabad:PTI supporters are being led to believe that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has presented a resolution at the United Nations in favor of former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan.

The report was circulated on social media websites as Khan secured bail in a terrorism case filed against him for a speech at a public rally.

Thousands of people liked and shared posts claiming that Erdogan voiced his concern for Khan who says he was ousted in a regime change conspiracy hatched by the US.

The reports that Erdogan moved a resolution in US are incorrect.

The UN headquarters is located in New York and the Turkish president had not left his country for the UN till the filing of this report.

According to state-run news agency Anadolu, the Turkish president on Thursday addressed a ceremony to mark the 951st anniversary of the Victory of Malazgirt in Turkey.
