Fact-check: Geo didn’t report Imran Khan’s statement about angels and grave

Islamabad: Political opponents and critics are mocking former prime minister Imran Khan over a statement which he never made.

A series of memes surfaced online in the form of captions that accompanied a Geo News report quoting Imran Khan as saying that “Angeles in grave will ask you why didn’t you vote for Imran Khan.”

This news is fake and it was never reported by Geo News.

The font is different from Geo’s share format and the social media team of the country’s biggest private broadcaster adds names or uses quotation marks in the headline.
