Fawad Chaudhry’s praise for General Bajwa raises eyebrows

Islamabad: A couple of days after publicly criticizing the Pakistani establishment, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry praised Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

In a rare backtrack, the firebrand politician shared army chief’s picture with Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman and acknowledged the general’s role in strengthening the relations between the two Muslim countries.

Sharing the picture, he wrote, “Pakistan and KSA are all weather friends, the highest award for Army Chief is on one hand recognition of his role and on the other hand yet another evidence of close relationship between Armed Forces of Pak and KSA.Expansion of relationship is in the interest of both countries.”

His tweet came as a surprise to PTI fans who had praised Fawad for criticizing the army on a live TV show.
