Foreign women harassed in Islamabad’s Shakarparian

Islamabad: Two women tourists were harassed by a mob in Shakarparian, a tourist attraction in the country’s capital on the Independence Day on Sunday.

A video shows a group of man harassing the foreigners clad in traditional Pakistani outfits.

The women also wore dopatta(scarf) during their visit to Shakarparian. The identities of the tourists were not immediately known.

TV anchor Absa Komal, who hosts a current affairs show on Dawn News, demanded Islamabad police take action against the culprits.

Hundreds of social media users expressed anger at the men who surrounded the women and harassed them at a public place.

Whyyyy nobody is taking this sickness in our society seriously???

Local women have stopped going out to public places, but they wont even spare foreign tourists.

A TikToker with thousands of followers posted the video and glorified the incident with a racist caption.
