Fresh currency notes for Eid-ul-Fitr 2019 to be issued from May 20

Fresh currency notes for Eid-ul-fitr 2019 will be issued between May 20 and 23, State Bank of Pakistan said on Wednesday.

You are required to get yourself registered through an SMS service of the SBP before getting your hands on the fresh currencies notes before Eid-ul-Fitr.

Under the procedure, you will send an SMS to 8887 along with your CNIC number and code of the designate branch. You will be charged Rs2 plus plus taxes for the service.

After sending the message, you will get in response a Redemption Code, E-Branch address and Expiry Date of the Redemption Code.

You are required to visit the respective bank branch along with original CNIC, a photocopy of the CNIC and the Redemption Code.

Fresh currencies notes for Eid-ul-Fitr would be available at 1700 branches of 142 cities of Pakistan.

You can also get the fresh currency notes by visiting six field offices of the State Bank of Pakistan.
