Gen Raheel meets Gen Bajwa ahead of MBS Pakistan visit

RAWALPINDI: Commander of Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition Gen (retd) Raheel Sharif on Monday called on Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

According to the ISPR, the meeting between the former and current army chief took place at Pakistan Army’s General Headquarters in Rawalpindi where issues of mutual interest and regional peace and  stability came under discussion.

Gen Bajwa applauded Islamic coalition’s efforts for regional peace and security, the ISPR said.

Quoting sources, a local TV channel reported that it is the first visit from any delegation from the Saudi-led coalition which would stay in Islamabad for two days.

Gen (retd) Raheel Sharif is also expected to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan during his visit.

The sources said the upcoming visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman to Pakistan  would also come under discussion during the meetings between  delegation and Pakistan’s civil and military leadership
