Heatwave to grip Karachi next week

Karachi heatwave is expected to hit the city between May 1 and 3, according to an alert issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department

KARACHI: A heatwave is expected to grip Karachi next week, with temperatures rising in the first between May 1 and 3.

The mercury would range between 40 and 42 C during the first three days of the next month, according to Pakistan Meteorological Department.

“Day maximum temperature would range in 40-42 C during this period. Winds flow will be from North/Northwest during daytimes,” said the statement issued by the Met Office.

The Met office has requested the authorities and all stakeholders to take precautionary measures and keep the people informed about its heatwave updates.
