ISI empowered for verification, screening of govt officers

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has empowered the country’s premier intelligence agency ISI as Special Vetting Agency for verification and screening of all government officers, inductions, promotions, important postings and appointments.

The establishment division on Thursday issued a notification to give the new role to the Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate.

Previously, country’s civilian spy agency Intelligence Bureau(IB)was serving as vetting and screening agency for the induction,appointment,posting and transfers of civilian officers.
